Netherlands-based online auction marketplace Catawiki has appointed Andy Botha–an alumnus of leading British real estate agency Purplebricks–its chief financial officer.
The company welcomed Botha in a LinkedIn post.
Before joining the auction house, Botha (LinkedIn profile) served as the group CFO of PurpleBricks Group.
With over three decades of experience, he’s spearheaded the finance department of ZPG, the owner of U.K.’s leading real estate marketplace Zoopla and other online brands.
Besides leading on many equity and debt rounds, Botha also supervised the sale of ZPG to private equity firm Sliver Lake in an estimated $3 billion U.S. deal in 2018.
Prior to ZPG, he led the marketing and finance teams of NotOnTheHighStreet.com, a b-to-c marketplace, “driving gross revenues from £43 million to £158 million.”
During the five years he spent as chief commercial officer and commercial and international finance director, Botha also led a team of 250 members with full profit and loss responsibility at Betfair and accompanied the company in its journey of becoming the world’s biggest betting community with revenue of over £350 million.
He also served as chief operating officer of ATS provider Ceridian.
Botha is a graduate of Middlesex University and an ICAEW Fellow (FCA).
Of his appointment, Catawiki said, “Following an impressive 25-year career in finance for a variety of big-name brands, Andy will play a key strategic and operational role in the future success of Catawiki as we move towards our next milestone of €1 billion in sales.”
Botha added, “I’m excited to be joining Catawiki to lead the finance team, and to be part of a team focused on delivering on the many opportunities we have ahead of us.”
